Wii Frustrations

Posted on May 30, 2011 by 2 Comments

The Nintendo Wii in March became just the second system ever to die on me. The first death was entirely my fault as I tried to escape GCSE revision to play PS2 games. Having had the power lead confiscated I decided to plug the power lead from my printer into it. It fitted, what could possibly go wrong? Well it fried the PS2 and surprisingly I still passed my science GCSE despite forgetting about amps, volts and wattage.

Karting Rankings

Posted on May 28, 2011 by No Comments

As I mentioned in my previous post I decided it might be fun to do some karting rankings based on those who have ever come to one of my events. It is not likely to be entirely accurate but can be used for a vague comparison/argument… In some places where ability is close I will put side by side. Number in brackets is times seen.

So anyway here is the top 15:

Matt Teager (2)
Jonathan Little (10) / Craig King (4)
Helen Little (6) / Felicity Kensett (4)
Patrick Hill (6) / Steve Franklin (2)
Trefor Little (6)
Ceri Almrott (2)
Seok Jun Park (1)
David Witt (1)
Catherine Leopold (3)
Beth Little (7)
Thomas McCorkell (4)
Beverley Little (5)

Computer testing

Posted on May 22, 2011 by 4 Comments

Mr David Witt pointed me towards a tool to test the performance of different computers called CrystalMark 2004 which then gives you a final number score for your machine based on processor power, memory, hard drive and graphics.

It has allowed me therefore to rate all of my machines:
Netbook – 26749
Main PC – 50607
Media Centre – 96799

I then went on to test the beast that I built for my Father at Christmas with last year’s i5 processor. The score blows my machines out of the water:

Dad’s machine – 194,195

Amateur Sports – BAFACL

Posted on March 29, 2011 by 4 Comments

I am now the news editor for the British American Football Association Community League website. This has led me to research all of the teams in the leagues at present. In 2010 we had 51 senior teams 25 youth teams and 16 junior teams. I would say of those about half have websites. Of those very very few have the dates for the 2011 season on their websites so far, the season kicks off in a month and as far as I know the schedule was sorted a month ago.
