I watched Doctor Who with hobbit this morning which was nice. I then spent most of the rest of the day packing to go back to university. My father and I eventually got to uni at around 8 and we ordered pizza with my friends. At 11 we headed to campus and waited around for other people going on the night hike. We had lower numbers than I had expected with only 11 people going but it meant it was quicker counting people. We started well and it was a lovely night, we kept a good pace to begin with but we had one too many breaks I think so our time was rubbish. The last two years we finished at around 3:30 but this year it was 4pm by the time we got through Richmond Park. Ah well the time is not what matters, the river was pretty as always and there were the usual token drunks in Richmond this time a couple doing things they shouldn’t on a public bench and a compulsive tidier. Once into the park Craig and I quickly sped off into the distance as you can’t really get lost and we wanted to push ourselves a bit. We then lay in the middle of a roundabout for ten minutes until everyone caught up. By now we had a couple of stragglers which didn’t help our time. Ah well, it was nice to get into bed after the walk, even if the bed was just some cushions. I maintain though that those cushions are now comfier than my bed.

I had work today, obviously. It was a busy day not least because Rob didn’t come in, nice and reliable. I met Cathy for lunch and we ate by the river as it was such a nice day. I then followed her around for half an hour as she handed out cv’s in a way where none were handed out as she is rather picky. I left her abstaining from handing one in and went back to work. Malin let me leave 10mins early so I could catch a train back to Horsham. I got in at around 7pm and went straight to church for the annual Christian Aid quiz night. This year we were once again the smallest team except for Helen joined the team instead of Beth… oh and there was no David. It was a good quiz but a lot of it was too challenging. We ended up coming 6th out of 9 which ain’t too bad having half the manpower and especially as we were last halfway through. When we got home I watched Match of the Day and was delighted to see that Fulham won 2-0 against Birmingham thus seeing them move out of the bottom three for the first time since maybe November. We just need a win against Portsmouth next week and we are guarenteed to stay up. With Portsmouth having one eye on the FA Cup final the week after that might be an easier task than usual. Bring it on!

This morning I went to chapel early to catch Nicola about the night hike which is next Friday. Apparently it costs £60 to go through Richmond Park at 3am which is quite a lot but hopefully we will have rather a lot more than that in sponsor money. I paid my library fines for the last three years which came to £9 which was annoying and then went and talked to Peter Briggs about a public liability insurance form for the college as it was requested by Richmond Park. I went home then and spent the afternoon playing computer games and reading a book called Three by the christian author Ted Dekker. Its not bad so far although it is a little slow to start. In the evening our friends came over and we had pizza night which was followed by assorted videos on youtube. Its not quite the same without Beth here it must be said.

This morning I handed in my last essay which felt very good. Before submitting I made quite a few changes to make it better and then got rid of it to be finished with University… woohoo. To celebrate I spent most of the day playing a game I bought last month called Team Fortress 2 which is an online only first person shooter and is great fun. In the evening I went to Beth’s with the air bed and we went into Putney for dinner to celebrate. We decided to go to Putney Tandoori our favourite London curry place. We ate well and the service was very quick meaning we were home by 9pm. Had a conversation with my father about a Wii he won at work and then watched Doctor Who with Beth. After pumping up the air bed we had an early night.

This morning my lovely fiancee had her first real job interview. As such I did as she does for me and walked her to Barnes station reassuring her about her chances as we went. The interview was at Canterbury for a youth work position co-ordinating between the local methodist church and the universities. I think she would be good at it, she has certainly done a good job as chapel chairperson this year. When she had left on the train I went into Putney and bought the food I need to see out the week which came to a total of £3, I wish all shopping trips cost so little.
On arriving home I watched the Futurama movie Benders Big Score which was entertaining but I feel it was missing something, it did tie up several loose ends from the series though and I only hope they make more shows. After the film I went with Louise to Fairtrade lunch which was pretty much empty. I then saw the final cut of our film and handed in my penultimate piece of assessed work, both were good in my opinion. I spent the rest of the afternoon finishing off my last essay and editing it as best I could. I then had some time to spare for computer games before heading back to campus with Vicki. Beth and I had chilli con carne for dinner which I cooked for her and then we watched big bang theory and went over my last essay. At around 10:30 I went home to bed.

Went to work in the bookshop today as is usual now for Mondays. It was relatively busy and I was taught several new things again throughout the day which was quite nice. When I got home we had pasta night with 11 of us which is the most for quite a while. A number of my friends played balderdash after eating while I took Craig and Demelza to my room to play computer games. It was all fine until they started smooching on my bed (not something that I recommend for them on my bed). When they left Beth looked over my penultimate essay and then I walked her home and went to bed.

I knew today was going to be essentially another day of work as I had a lot to accomplish essentially meaning that with tomorrow included I will have worked for the last four days. The day started with my getting a train to Horsham at 8:50. I met Beth and my family at church for the morning service which had a good sermon. We then drove to Crawley and had a relatively rubbish lunch in a dining area that borders on a small version of what I experienced at the mall in America. Our purpose for being in Crawley, however, was not to eat rubbish food but to create our wedding list which meant ‘zapping’ products we wanted in Debenhams. From looking at the top of this blog you will see the fruits of our labour. It was quite tiring work as I argued about several of the things Beth wanted to add for the sake of adding. Like adding a toaster solely because they had them even if none of them took my eye as being particularly worthwhile. We eventually finished and had free coffees on debenhams… which weren’t that nice. My father bought me Harlan Coben’s new novel Hold Tight from Sussex Stationers and so it was a good trip to Crawley.
At 5pm Beth and I went to my church for the second time today and met with David Chapman the minister to go over the plans for our wedding again. We gave him the marriage certificate we picked up a couple of weeks ago and showed him our mock order of service. He suggested a couple of changes and set up with us some dates for a marriage preparation course, therefore it was productive. Upon arriving home I watched a recording of the Spanish Grand Prix which wasn’t too boring but was a bit of a procession. We then took the train home with Craig and Demelza.

I worked again today for the second day in a row (which is fair enough as I am meant to work Saturdays anyway). It was pretty busy all day and enjoyable too. Malin taught me some new things so I now feel I know what I am doing in most areas. In the evening I came home and ate a takeaway Chinese before sitting down to the Christian movie Facing the Giants which is about a High School American Football team. It was a good film if you could get through the religious segments. I realise that essentially the whole point of the film was to give a christian message but things change too quickly from being hellish to perfect in a way that does echo the “god can do anything” approach but is unbelievable in doing so. I followed this off with Match of the Day in which I was delighted to see Fulham win their second away game in succession to remain in with a chance of staying in the premier league. I am not sure whether they will it all hinges on their result this coming Saturday which is a shame because I was meant to be there but was unable to get the day off work to go to Craven Cottage… pesky christians all wanting a holiday the same day. Ah well Match of the Day it is I guess.

Went to work today for an extra curricular day (I don’t usually do Friday’s) which is fine by me as its another £50 for me next month. Beth joined me for lunch today at Corleone’s mafia cafe (well I assume its mafia) and I bought her lunch. After lunch she headed to Horsham with Demelza meaning that my evening pizza was alone with Vicki and Vicki’s but do not worry she did not show me her sock collection. Instead we shared a Mama’s pizza and then Cathy came over to watch Doctor Who with us which was quite fun. I am starting to get more and more into Doctor Who at the moment, of course not to the obsessive level that my Aunt and Vicki are at but the show is entertaining. I left relatively early though so as to get a little more work done before getting to bed.
