It was a close call between LoTR and Pirates. Mind you, I like to count LoTR as a trilogy, but really only preferred the first of the pirate films in my list of decade-ent (hahahaha pun intended) films. This decade was a very defining time for us all, and these films will ever remain in my memory of the long golden summer that was my teenage years (with a few winters in between. And autumn and spring. But you know what I mean). Unfortunately for LoTR there was a scary having-to-learn-Elvish incident, so my final choice - and the film I saw FIVE times in the cinema, personal record - is Pirates of the Caribbean, the Curse of the Black Pearl.
